The Foundation was established in 1992 with the support from the International Youth Foundation. We are a non-profit organisation and we do not carry out economic activity. Our financial resources come mainly from grants and contributions received from institutions and individuals.
Our aim is to stimulate comprehensive development of children and youth aged between 5 and 20 years.
We wish to help in raising a new generation of responsible and creative people, who actively build their own lives and local community, and thus, the future of our country and of the whole world.
We want to be present everywhere where individuals and organizations caring for children and youth need financial, organizational and educational support or else, where they need a liaison with institutions and organizations in Poland and abroad.
We award financial grants and organise training courses for representatives of local authorities and non-governmental organisations or leaders of informal youth groups, as well as conferences and seminars which discuss their problems. We carry out training programmes for primary and maternal school teachers which teach them new methods or working with young people.
From 1992 until the end of 2009 we have awarded 4219 grants of a total of PLN 41,645,600. Each year, we help over 200,000 children and young people.
At present, we run the following programmes:
Encouraging favourable attitude of the community depends mainly on new generations, i.e. children and young people, who, one after the other, enter adult life and shape it. Therefore, it is extremely important to provide youth with best possible role models to develop personality, character and attitude of future generations of young people, who are responsible, creative, active and consciously shape their own lives and that of their community. Therefore, it is essential to assure conditions where young people can freely develop and acquire professional skills up to future standards.
We are here to create friendly environment for the development of children and youth and to support all activities undertaken for their benefit, in particular, such initiatives, which make them more self-confident and encourage them to take up new challenges. We help teachers, parents and local organisations to create youth-friendly environment.
We aim to participate at every event where financial, organizational and educational support is required by individuals and organizations working for the benefit of children and young people.
We accomplish this objective mainly through a system of grant awards. Moreover, we make sure that financial aid comes with training courses which work towards the improvement of these organisations. We reach the tiniest villages with our financial aid. Our main objective is to activate, and therefore we offer a rod instead of a fish. As for the rest, they will learn themselves.
